Our Mission

The mission of CSTA Longwood is to further the mission of CSTA and to expand the availability of computer science education, especially to historically underrepresented populations within our communities, as well as professional development to engage more teachers in understanding the opportunities within computer science.

CSTA Longwood Chapter News

Over the next few months, our friends at the CSTA Susquehanna Valley Chapter will host a series of six engaging professional learning opportunities centered on using Micro:bit in the classroom. Participants will receive an introductory overview of the Micro:bit, followed by breakout discussions that encourage collaboration based on grade bands. Additionally, there will be sessions on how Micro:bit can be utilized for data collection and industry representatives will be invited to share their insights. Stay tuned for specific dates and further details!
The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education is pleased to announce the seventh annual Pennsylvania Computer Science For All (CSforAllPA) Summit will be held December 11-12, 2024 at PaTTAN Harrisburg and online. We are planning a chapter meetup / happy hour on December 11 for a chance to get together, debrief, and decompress after the fall semester. Our friends at PaTTAN along with all four PA CSTA chapters are hosting CS book events throughout the area.  We will explore a curated collection of computing oriented books to support learning computer science, and have some networking and conversations with the local chapter membership.
